As a follow up to My Painted Porch which has been online for almost two decades, over the last five years, Designing Scarlett has been a beautiful space dedicated to celebrating life's sweetest milestones—from watercolor house portraits to custom memory blankets. My focus has always been on family, love, and the authentic moments and stories we weave together.
Today, I am celebrating a massive milestone of my own as a solo female founder.
Back in 2021, I laid the groundwork for an independent apparel venture dedicated to our community in Northern NB - our cultures, our lifestyle, and our home, and in early 2022, opened the North 48°® Clothing Co Etsy shop. As a mom and wife running multiple creative businesses, I knew that protecting my intellectual property was vital.
After years of hard work and a 2.5 yr application process, I officially secured the federal registered trademark for our North 48°® Clothing Co - Since 2021 brand this past March.

Navigating the worlds of motherhood, marketing, and creative business has taught me that the most important milestones in all of it, are the ones that require you to stand your ground and claim them. Ideas can be imitated, but a founder's true heart and legal protection cannot be duplicated.
In balancing the chaotic rush of family life, music, and business, I have constantly returned to that immortal guiding truth: "To thine own self be true."
This trademark and this flagship launch are the ultimate realization of
staying true to my own vision, my own integrity, and my own roots.
